Day 12: Original Oreo vs Caramel Coconut Oreo

Winner: Original Oreo! begone you foul caramel beast.

Caramel Coconut Oreo

• smells: it smells like a Yankee Candle. that sickeningly sweet you cant quite put your finger on the actual smell, you just know it smells way too much.
• first bite: ok it smells much stronger than it tastes. no wait, my tongue was just avoiding the filling. its… something. overly sweetened caramel? I really dont know what its doing.
• just cookie: bless you standard oreo cookie for maintaining your innocence in this monstrosity
• just filling: oh god oh god oh god I dont want to…. nonononononononoNONO what is this?! why??? its crunchy! its crunchy filling that tastes like you made cotton candy out of caramel, drizzled that with coconut shavings, then distilled the whole thing down to pure syrup, boiled that for 3 days to intensify the flavors and then made frosting out of that. NO.
• last bite: no. this is an abomination. I hate you Oreo.

Original Oreo

• smells: safe chocolately zone. bless you OGREO.
• first bite: awww yeah these are the good stuff. takes me back to Laos, good times good times.
• just cookie: hello chocolate goddess. welcome back to my mouf.
• just filling: I will never doubt the quality of your standard oreo filling again. you are manna from cookie heaven.
• last bite: do a little dance. eat a little cookie. get down tonight. woo! get down with your oreos tonight!

Day 11

Day 11: Pepperidge Farm Oatmeal Raisin vs Dutch Butter Cookies

Pepperidge Farm Oatmeal Raisin scoring:

• smell: spices and fruit? mostly spices.
• first bite: ooooooo so much spices! actually more than I would have expected. cookie is a bit softer than I would like, but I love the sweet and salty combo.
• second bite: there are not enough raisins in this cookie.
• dipping in beverage: ewwwww squish city
• last bite: ok this is painful for me because I LOVE oatmeal raisin cookies. like LOVE them. and this is a bad oatmeal raisin cookie. I want to vote for it to continue because I love the type of cookie but I can’t. cause im sad. sad sad cookie tears. I should have bought Tate’s Bakeshop Cookies. Can I call an audible?! :blobsob:
• fingers: clean clean

Dutch Butter Cookies scoring:

• smell: smells like butter! and sugar! as advertised I suppose
• first bite: dry cookie with a hint of sugar on it. kinda like shortbread? but maybe a bit more sweet.
• second bite: slightly more butter flavor now and the sugar is a bit stronger as well.
• dipping in beverage: milk just runs off the cookie so that’s weird. maybe if I really held it under? and then it disintegrated. well that was dumb.
• last bite: ugh fine. you win dutch cookie, though you should lose. you were still tasty. fingers: pretty crumbly

Day 10

Day 10: Mint Oreo vs Birthday Cake Oreo

Winner: Mint Oreos. Though it was closer than I thought it would be.

Birthday Cake Oreo

• smells: whoaaaa this smells exactly like frosting from the can. like intense. the smell alone just spiked my blood sugar.
• first bite: eating frosting. I am legit eating frosting from the can and the cookie is just a spoon to eat more frosting.
• just cookie: standard oreo cookie. I don’t know why I expect these to be different.
• just filling: all at once is a bad idea. I repeat DANGER WILL ROBINSON. my mouth is freakin out! no wait, it’s subsiding, we’re all good here.
• dipped in beverage: milk makes it too sweet though coffee does help tone it down. pick your beverage wisely.
• last bite: the frosting did start to grow on me but ultimately it’s too much.

Mint Oreo

• smells: minty fresh goodness. nommmmmmm smells like a thin mint
• first bite: solid minty flavor which is excellent, very much like a mint chocolate chip ice cream which I love.
• just cookie: stop. expecting. cookies. to. taste. different. heather.
• just filling: why doesnt it taste as strong minty flavor when it’s all alone? did it break? is the mint in the cookie? it cant be because I JUST ATE THE COOKIE.
• dipped in beverage: meh, I just dont like oreos in milk. leave my cookies alone!
• last bite: mint and chocolate go together like ….. queso and chips? I dunno, i’m riding the sugar wave let me enjoy the moment.

Day 9

Pocky vs Presidents Choice White Chocolate Chip Cookie

Winner: Pocky! Masaki’s mind games emerge victorious

Presidents Choice White Chocolate Chip Cookie scoring:

• smell: a mild cocoa smell. should I make a cup of hot cocoa to go with this cookie?
• first bite: ok so a slight chocolate cookie with crunchy bits in it. i’m not sure i actually taste the white chocolate chip
• second bite: yep this is a chocolate cookie, not a chocolate chip cookie. dipping in beverage: oh no this cookie disintegrated on liquid contact. it is the Gremlin of cookies.
• last bite: my brain breaks thinking of the other President Cookie and how much I loved it. Can’t help but think of Washington vs Adams administration. #ham4ham
• fingers: these are the most dusty crumbly cookies. Must eat over plate and have napkin available. or yoga pants, no judgement here.

Pocky scoring:

• smell: strongggg chocolate smells. and no I did not shove the stick up my nose.
• first bite: oh this is kinda fun. solid chocolate flavor, much stronger than I would have expected. nice crunch of the stick.
• second bite: these taste much better than I thought they would. plus fun stick factor so I can pretend it’s a wand, lightsaber, sword, whatever.
• dipping in beverage: while milk doesnt do much for these, the ability to stir my beverage is hilarious and wonderfully adorable.
• last bite: I do love the ability to play with my food. these are tasty cookie treats with a strong fun factor.
• fingers: clean clean stick fingers.

Day 8

Day Eight: Thin Bites: Fudge Dipped Mint Oreo vs Thin Bites: Fudge Dipped Oreo

Winner: Thin Bites: Fudge Dipped Mint Oreo. IT’S A THIN MINT Y’ALL.

Thin Bites: Fudge Dipped Oreo

• smells: basic chocolate fudge smells
• first bite: weirddd this one tastes very much liek chocolate only. where is the middle cream filling?!
• just cookie: double basic choco flavor
• just filling: tiny little cream filling makes sense why it’s so hard to taste in the full cookie bite.
• dipped in beverage: poor fudge dipped gets no milk love
• last bite: this is an unbalaced oreo. the fuge outside doubles down on the chocolate and not enough middle cream. we needed an OG double stuffed to help here.
• fingers: dirty chocolately fingers, especially if you keep holding it trying to pry it apart.

Thin Bites: Fudge Dipped Mint Oreo

• smells: oooooo it smells like a Thin Mint! I’m excited!
• first bite: f*ck yes it tastes like a thin mint! with just a hint of the cream in the middle.
• just cookie: ya basic choco flavor
• just filling: too little minty goodness
• dipped in beverage: not enough cookie to absorb the milk. fudge coating makes it all just run away.
• last bite: thin mints in mini form available all. year. long.
• fingers: this shiz melts in your hand AND your mouth. be warned clean fingers fanatics.
